Yaakov Richter, LCSW
Yaakov is a licensed clinical social worker in New Jersey with a deep commitment to helping people navigate life’s most overwhelming moments. He earned his Master’s in Social Work from Hunter College, where he specialized in Child and Adolescent Trauma, a foundation that continues to inform his work with clients of all ages.
At the Trauma Recovery Center in Bergen County, he worked extensively with children, adolescents, and adult survivors of violent crime, providing trauma-focused psychotherapy during times of acute need.
Yaakov also has deep experience as a member of the Trauma Response Team, providing rapid, on-the-ground stabilization and support to communities following traumatic events; work that has shaped his calm, steady presence in his practice.
Today, Yaakov meets with clients in his private practice, offering thoughtful, evidence-based care to individuals navigating complex trauma, anxiety, depression, and phobias. He integrates proven trauma therapies with a warm, grounded approach that emphasizes safety, trust, and collaboration.
